The Story of Farm Girl Yarn

We love our fiber animals – we pamper them, a lot.  They greet our visitors with wonder and eagerness to pose for those numerous camera shots – sometimes they are rewarded with treats, a scratch or pat on their head,  and almost always with chuckles and smiles!

They are pastured raised, content (surrounded by our aromatic lavender fields), happy and most certainly, a spoiled group of wooly critters.  They reward us by growing some really beautiful, soft and luxurious coats.

Let us introduce our group:

OUR LLAMAS: PALI & DALI

JACOB SHEEP: ZUZU & JEREMY

BABYDOLL SOUTHDOWN SHEEP: HELOISE & ABELARD

ANGORA RABBIT – MACCHIATO

 ANGORA GOAT: ALFREDO

After our animals have been sheared, the fiber is taken to the new EchoView Fiber Mill less than 20 miles away in Weaverville NC (www.echoviewfibermill.com) where it is gently and professionally processed and spun into our fine yarn. EchoView Mill is a LEED* certified processing facility which means they leave a light footprint on the environment.  Design elements like solar energy, geo-thermal wells, and sustainable materials help them achieve efficient, eco-friendly processing of fiber. *(LEED  =  Leading Edge Environmental Design).

And that’s our story of FARM GIRL YARN – an all natural, undyed blend of sheep’s wool, mohair, llama, and Angora goat and rabbit.  We just love our fiber animals – you are gonna love their yarn!
