Over the past ten plus years Marilyn Cade has graciously opened Mountain Farm to all those who arrived in her driveway.  It began as a simple business back then – handmade goats milk soaps, lavender bath and body items and herbal teas sold from the basement of her home.  Then, there was a charming rustic gift shop fully stocked with unique soaps, lavender spa items, herbal teas and gourmet culinary products, even a Mountain Farm cookbook!  Our 24 acre farm has always been free of charge for families to visit and enjoy, as often as they wished – whether it was a stroll to meet and pet our friendly animals, a relaxing picnic on the hill, a walk through the lavender labyrinth, photo memories of our magnificent views, or to just sit, inhale the lavender, and be.  We have always welcomed friends, neighbors and visitors from near and far to our home, we delighted in your company, shared stories and loved meeting each one of you!

MC IN FIELD (2)While we are certainly going to miss all the activity of visitors to our farm, the season has arrived for us to permanently close both the shop and our farm to the public.  We will no longer be open for visitors as of January 2014.   We will continue to produce many of our popular products which are sold through local retailers and our online Etsy store – ( The online sales of product sold through the Etsy site over the last several years has continued to grow.

Mountain Farm has always been guided by whimsy and that shall continue  – so stay in contact with our Facebook Page and the Blog & Event sections of our website ( as we intend to open for the semi-annual TRAC tours and the ASAP Family Farm Tour and perhaps other Special Events in the future.  We shall also continue to rent the Blueberry Cottage seasonally and provide a lovely venue for weddings.

We sincerely value and appreciate all the loyalty of our many friends, neighbors and customers over the years, we truly hope you will understand our decision and honor our privacy.  Having all of you to include in our Mountain Farm story has made a wonderful and lasting memory.
